Dr. Van Guilder attends up to 50 hours of continuing education a year to maintain a high quality of dentistry in the office. So be assured that you will be taken care of at Dakota Family Dentistry.
Dr. Christina Van Guilder
A graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Dr. Christina has been the owner of Dakota Family Dentistry since July of 2007. She is passionate about dentistry and providing her patients with comprehensive dental care. She enjoys the connection to her patients and is grateful for the ability to do what she loves.
She is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association and St. Paul District Dental society where she is a past President. She is an active member and Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry which shows her commitment to lifelong learning in all areas of dentistry.
She has also received her Fellowship with the Great Lakes Implant Institute, is an Associate Fellow with the World Clinical Laser Institute, and a Master Provider to Fast Braces. Dr. Van Guilder is on faculty with The Implant Pathway where she travels to Arizona and mentors other dentists on oral surgery and implant placement.
She resides in Cottage Grove with her husband, Scott, and three children. In her free time she enjoys weekends at the lake, watching her children participate in sports, attending Wild hockey games and building with Lego.
Dr. Rachel Pfahning
Dr. Rachel Pfahning grew up in the rural town of Perham, MN and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the College of Saint Benedict. She attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she graduated with High Distinction and received the “Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award” for her academic achievements. During her dental school education, she served as Class President and received the “Mellor R. Holland Student Achievement Award” for her leadership efforts. Her professional memberships include the American Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Association.
Dr. Pfahning is passionate about giving patients a smile they’re proud to wear. Her small town upbringing sparked her love for dentistry, connecting with her community, and providing them with the highest quality of care. Throughout her education she pursued a love for volunteering locally and globally, which she looks forward to continuing in Inver Grove Heights.
Dr. Pfahning resides in Farmington with her husband, Steven. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, golfing, hiking, hunting, fishing and spending time with her niece and nephews.
